As per a recent report, in Thailand, a patient is in a rehab clinic because of his Крипто addiction. This incident highlights one of the growing problems worldwide with the mainstream adoption of crypto. Cryptocurrency addiction is equated with gambling addiction in a recent report.
Citing the work of Dr. Theo de Vries, Managing Director of The Diamond Rehab in Thailand, who also does the treatment for Крипто addiction. According to De Vries, the crypto addiction is often infused with something else since patients complain of either alcohol or drugs besides crypto. He also shared that his clinic treats patients with crypto addiction the same as gambling, noting the “highest suicide rate of all addictions.”
An anonymous patient told in an interview about his experience with Крипто addiction. The 38-year-old patient is the owner of a marketing company and has two kids. The patient shared that after becoming aware of Ethereum, they first got involved in Крипто во 2016.
The patient then reveals that the addiction slowly grew over time. Then, they went on to find the “next new gem” that would yield substantial profits. The patient says they became “thoroughly obsessed over it” and started taking loans, including personal loans from family and friends, to back their investments.
It quickly got escalated, and the patient started making up excuses and lies to get loans and invest in Крипто. Then, they started checking prices often, turning into a crypto-obsessed. They used to watch crypto-related Youtube videos in their free time.
Then, on the recommendation of the patient’s girlfriend, they turn to get help regarding their Крипто addiction, leading to a stay at a rehab center. Eventually, the patient got over their Крипто addiction; however, they shared it was “really tough,”, especially during the bull market.
