Blizzard Is Not Boarding The NFT Boat

Blizzard president, Mike Ybarra cleared the fog of rumors from the air by stating that “no one is doing NFT.” P2E games are blockchain based games offering players rewards in cryptocurrency as they play the game.

This comes days after reports from media unveiled a survey by Blizzard in partnership with data analytics organization YouGov. The study was done to measure interest of player base of organizations in Крипто царство.

Reacting to the speculation, Blizzard president stated on Twitter stated “no one is doing NFT.” This reply sparked several reactions. A few Twitter users thanked Ybarra for taking the route of P2E games. On the other hand, some questioned him, why study was conducted if they are not interested in doing NFT games.

Influx Of Game Publishers In NFT Sector

Numerous game publishers have recently made announcements regarding their strategies to release games based on NFT. Back in February, Nintendo showed some keen interest into the potential NFTs and metaverse hold for their video games.

Senior researcher at MST Financial, David Gibson posted a Q&A session he did with Nintendo. He stated in a Tweet, Nintendo affirmed that while they believe in potential of this area, they are not working on anything at present.

Back in December 2021, gaming organization Ubisoft launched a latest platform dubbed Ubisoft Quartz, where it provided NFT known as Digits.

Ubisoft Quartz was initially launch for desktop version of Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint and provided distinct items on offer as NFT. Digit exhibits distinct collectibles like in-game pieces of equipment, vehicles, and weapons. However, the organization faced huge backfire from its users with NFT implementation.

In other news Blizzard will soon reveal a mobile version for World of Warcraft in May, and an expansion for the game too.
